Mother Earth, one beautifully complex fragile world outside …
… or our amazing inner worlds that appreciate her.
When she was young, her dark side was studded only with volcanoes and lightning; then came life, forests, oxygen and fire. Now she is getting on and we are taking her portrait from high up in space, with our electric circuits brightly burning the carbon exhumed from below, blanketing and killing the diverse lives we love, not least our precious selves, here on her surface.
The billions of neurons in our brain may die or suffer storms of uncontrolled electrical activity. This complex organ, like our planet, is revealing its secrets to us slowly, allowing us to protect and restore it in many ways, but its darkest secrets still defy the understanding that could allow us to stay bright and alert, enjoying our selves in a productive life right through to a ripe old age.
We believe that research will find solutions, but needs our support to find them quickly.
